Leblanc CL-651 Boehm System Clarinet – Professional Sound Quality for Discerning Musicians

The Leblanc CL-651 Boehm-System clarinet stands for precision, rich tone, and reliability—three qualities that professional musicians worldwide value in the long-established Leblanc brand. As one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality woodwind instruments, Leblanc enjoys an excellent reputation, particularly among clarinetists. The CL-651 was developed specifically for advanced students, ambitious amateur musicians, and semiprofessional clarinetists who are looking for a robust and sonically mature instrument with modern features.

Thanks to its outstanding craftsmanship, sturdy ABS body, and finely tuned mechanics, the CL-651 is a clarinet that impresses both in the rehearsal room and on stage. It combines classic playability with durable technology and a warm, resonant tone—ideal for orchestras, wind ensembles, ensembles, or solo performances.

Leblanc—A Name Synonymous with Quality

For over 100 years, Leblanc has been synonymous with high-quality clarinets that impress with their innovation and sound quality. In collaboration with renowned musicians and developers, the brand has continuously evolved and today offers instruments that are state-of-the-art in both sound and technology. The Leblanc CL-651 is a product of this expertise—designed for players who value intonation, responsiveness, and flexibility.

Leblanc’s focus is always on the musician. As a result, every detail—from the mouthpiece to the tone holes to the mechanism—is designed for an ergonomic playing experience and musical expression. The CL-651 offers excellent tonal balance across the entire range and ensures expressive playing—regardless of style or application.

Technical Details – Refined Down to the Last Detail

The Leblanc CL-651 clarinet is based on the proven Boehm system with 18 keys and 6 rings. This system is widely used worldwide and enables flexible fingering with clean intonation and balanced tone across all registers. An integrated Eb lever expands the range of playing possibilities, particularly in the upper register.

The body of the clarinet is made of brushed ABS plastic—a material that is robust, durable, and weather-resistant. Compared to wood, ABS is less sensitive to moisture and temperature fluctuations, making the CL-651 the ideal choice for outdoor use or for students who are not yet familiar with wooden instruments. Nevertheless, the body has an elegant appearance and a surprisingly warm tone—qualities rarely found in plastic instruments.

The undercut tone holes ensure precise intonation and consistent response across all registers. Two included tuning bulbs (62 mm and 64 mm) allow for fine-tuning the intonation to individual needs or different playing environments—a feature particularly appreciated by professional musicians.

The silver-plated nickel silver mechanism impresses with its smooth response and reliable operation. Particularly noteworthy is the stabilized low E key, which ensures reliable response in the lower register—a range that often poses difficulties for many clarinets. With this design, Leblanc succeeds in guaranteeing clean intonation and direct sound transmission here as well.

Complete Package for Musicians—Ready to Play from the Very First Note

The Leblanc CL-651 clarinet comes with a high-quality U.S.-made mouthpiece, complete with a matching reed screw and cap. This combination provides a solid tonal foundation and allows for individual adjustments later on by changing the mouthpiece if needed. The clarinet is ready to play right out of the box and is ideal for lessons, rehearsals, and concerts.

The included lightweight case with backpack straps ensures comfortable and secure transport. Thanks to its light weight and sturdy construction, the case is ideal for students and professional musicians who travel frequently. Reflective elements and practical carrying handles round out the well-thought-out design.

With a total weight of 2.21 kg, the clarinet is comfortable to hold while offering enough stability for precise tone production. The combination of high-quality craftsmanship, well-thought-out features, and flexible playability makes the CL-651 an exceptionally reliable instrument that will delight players for years to come.
