Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Are you looking for a compact acoustic guitar that’s comfortable to play, easy to transport, and still delivers a rich, full sound? Then the Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural Acoustic Guitar is a model that fits this description perfectly. The specifications alone show that this guitar—a compact folk guitar within the CSF series—features a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a passive pickup system. Added to this is the Vintage Natural finish with a gloss finish, which gives the instrument a classic and stylish look. Anyone looking for a handy acoustic guitar with clearly defined features and a transport-friendly design will find this model to be a very interesting option.

Construction and Materials

The Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural acoustic guitar belongs to the CSF series and is specified with the CSF body shape. In the description, it is also referred to as a compact folk guitar. The top is made of solid Sitka spruce. The back and sides are made of mahogany. The construction is complemented by newly designed scalloped bracing, which, according to the description, delivers a rich, lively, and powerful sound from the compact body. It is also emphasized that the CSF series design is based on a newly designed, arched support and employs a forward-shifted construction to maintain the body’s strength while maximizing the vibration of the guitar’s top. These specifications give the Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural acoustic guitar a clearly defined and coherent design concept.

Playing Feel and Technical Foundation

A key focus of the description is the instrument’s compact size, which is intended to make the guitar exceptionally comfortable to play and easy to transport. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and has a fingerboard radius of 400 mm. It also features a scale length of 600 mm, as well as a nut and bridge insert made of urea. The neck is made of nato, and the bridge is also made of rosewood. The available data specifies the nut width as 85–105 mm; I am adopting this specification based on the information provided. Taken together, this results in a clearly defined technical foundation that underscores the model’s compact design.

Pickups and Features

A key feature of the Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural acoustic guitar is its passive pickup system. The description explicitly states that the guitars in the CSF series are equipped with the passive Zero Impact pickup, which allows connection to amplifiers or PA systems to produce a natural, dynamic acoustic sound during live performances. In the features section, the electronics are described as a passive system (SRT Piezo). A line-out jack is also listed. This clearly positions the guitar for amplified performances, combining its compact acoustic design with a clearly defined electronic solution.

Appearance and Transport

Visually, the Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural acoustic guitar features a Vintage Natural color with a gloss finish. It also includes black-and-white body binding and an abalone-and-black rosette. The tuners are die-cast chrome. Transport is also clearly emphasized in the product specifications. It is noted that all CSF guitars come with a sturdy hard case, which enables safe and easy transport. The package also includes a hard case and an Allen wrench. As a result, the Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural acoustic guitar presents itself not only as a compact acoustic guitar but also as a model with features clearly geared toward portability.

Recommended Purchase

The Yamaha CSF 1M Vintage Natural acoustic guitar is an interesting choice for anyone looking for a compact acoustic guitar with a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany body, and passive pickup system. The combination of the CSF body shape, new scalloped bracing, a nato neck, rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, and passive system (SRT piezo) results in an instrument with a distinctive character. It also features die-cast chrome tuners, a line-out jack, Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings, and a Vintage Natural finish with a gloss finish.
